Nomination Criteria
Teacher-of-the-Year
Identify (describing in detail and documenting when necessary)
criteria which support the candidate's qualifications for this award. Standard
paper (8 1/2 by 11) or letterhead is required.
The completed package should be organized as follows:
1. The cover page.
2. The biographical data page for the nominee.
3. A maximum of 10 additional pages, which includes responses
to the five items below and letters of support.
a. Contributions to business education through teaching.
Include information about classroom teaching performance, classroom management,
years of experience, and subject areas taught; and give evidence of
effectiveness. Supporting documentation from students, administrators, and/or
professional colleagues is essential to these criteria. (Weight--60 points)
b. Participation and offices held in local, state, regional,
and national professional associations. Also include special activities that
resulted in needed changes or improvements in the profession. Describe the
impact of such activities. (Weight--10 points)
c. Contributions to business education through major articles,
publications, and research activities. Describe the significance of such
activities of the profession. List--do not include copies of--articles,
monographs, books, etc., published by the nominee. (Weight--10 points)
d. Contributions to business education through religious,
civic, government, cultural and private business organizations. (Weight--10
points)
e. Involvement in other activities such as administrative
responsibilities and working with student organizations. (Weight--10 points)
